Have you ever felt like you knew you were entering a pivotal moment in your life?
Well, I’m in one now, and I did see this coming. “But how did I see it coming?” You may ask…
My family and I are moving into a brand-new apartment (just built!), and my car lease was up. Yup, that’s how I knew I was going to enter a new chapter in my life.
Interestingly, it ended up becoming an even more pivotal time in my life! I knew life was going to feel different, and thus it was a new chapter, but then my career completely shifted too. I’m following my ultimate dream! But I couldn’t say I would be if my boyfriend didn’t believe in me so much, and I’m so thankful for that.
Our new apartment is the first place I get to make truly my home. We also just got a bigger car that we needed for our family, and now my whole career change has been officially set in stone!
I’m welcoming this new chapter of my life and the new version of myself I’m going to evolve into with open, nurturing arms.
But I’ll never forget learning in my psychology classes that all change (even positive) induces some stress. So, what am I doing to emotionally welcome these changes?
Sharing
No, not like when you tell your child to take turns with things at the playground!
When I’m sharing it all with you guys, I feel good!
If you haven’t seen it yet, I’ve become very active on my YouTube channel again because it’s another, possibly even more personable, way for us to interact and keep you all up to date with me.
Taking My Own Advice
I’ve also been taking my own advice when it comes to managing anxiety as a mother. Some of my favorite tips I’ve been using recently are journaling more, nurturing my mind to respond more positively, doing yoga, and allowing myself to have time to relax.
When I was trying to do it all, which resulted in feeling like I was trying to manage three full-time jobs, that’s when I felt the most stressed, unsafe, and imbalanced. With the manageable work-life I have now, I finally feel at peace.
Planning
Planning gives me such a clear mind and a clear plan of action to know where I am and where I’m going (somewhat, of course).
If you need help with how to effectively plan let me know in the comments below and I can make a post about it!
Now I’ll leave you here with this quote and reminder: “You’re always one decision away from a totally different life”
Thanks for being here friends! xo,
Katelyn Lauren
