These baby must-haves for this Summer will make your life so much easier and your baby feel more happy and comfortable. I used some of these things when my daughter was a baby since she was born in the Spring and some of these things I can’t wait to use for my next babies!
1. Non-Toxic Sunscreen
I used to use Babyganics sunscreen, but recently I found out that they don’t rate very well on the EWG app I use to find non-toxic or low-toxic products, so I’m now making the switch to Hello Bello Mineral Sunscreen because it rated so much better on my apps that screen for toxic ingredients.
I believe it’s essential to use non-toxic products as much as possible for both you and your baby to keep health optimal and reduce the likelihood of skin irritation. Check out The Top 7 Best Non-Toxic Baby Lotion Brands here! (Coming soon!)
2. Bug Spray

Bug spray is crucial to always have on hand for your baby because some insects such as mosquitos and ticks can carry diseases that we need to do our best to protect our little ones from.
I actually have written a whole post on The Best Bug Spray for Babies to help you figure out which option is the best for your family! I explained DEET, Picardian, Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus, and natural bug spray made with essential oils.
This post also includes my bug spray recipe for babies, plus an itch stick roller blend recipe!
3. Baby Pool
This is one thing I didn’t have when my daughter was a baby, but if I have a baby when they do well enough to sit up with support, I’m totally getting this baby pool!
This baby pool would add another thing for your baby to do outside in your backyard, or you could bring it to the beach as well!
4. Muslin Baby Car Seat Cover
This is hands-down one of my favorite summer baby must-haves. They look so cute, they’re soft, and it always you to cover your baby from the sun!
Although this is a very light muslin cover, you shouldn’t leave it covering your baby in the summer for any reason because the temperature increases beyond what it feels like outside, which can be dangerous for your baby.
5. Breathable Blankie
For a breathable blankie, I love using muslin blankets/swaddles! These muslin swaddles are very soft, and you can easily layer them on a walk if needed.
6. Mini Portable Fan
This mini portable fan is one of my favorite handy essentials for babies and kids during the summer!
I recommend always having this on hand for walks, the beach, pool, zoo, and if the car isn’t cooled down from the A/C yet!
7. A Sun-Hat and/or Sunglasses
My daughter loves sunglasses and sometimes sun hats too! Whichever your little one will tolerate should be great to help keep the sun out of their eyes.
And if you need a hat for a little boy I love this bucket hat!
8. UV Protection Swim Suit
I love UV protection swimsuits for babies to help keep their sensitive skin extra safe.
9. Swim Diapers
Swim diapers are a necessity! I’ve used both reusable and disposable, but the reusable ones are difficult to clean if your little one goes #2 inside unless you’re already used to cloth diapering. So whichever options you feel works best for you is great!
10. A Beach Bag (& Cooler Bag!)
A large water-resistant beach bag is needed to carry towels, hold your phone, and hold toiletries such as sunscreen! And of course, an insulated cooler bag as well to bring fresh food and drinks.
11. Floaties
This swimming floaty is for babies 6 months +, and I would love to get something like this for my next babies to take them into the water because my daughter had a fear of getting into a large pool and the lake for over a year!
I’m hoping introducing something like this early will help my future babies from having the same fear.
However, as soon as my daughter was 18 months old+ we used this floaty which I would highly recommend switching to when your child is old enough.
12. An Outdoor Blanket
An outdoor blanket makes sitting on the grass or at the beach much more comfortable for both you and your baby. Plus, this water-resistant blanket would be great to have for a family picnic too!
13. A Beach Umbrella
A beach umbrella like this one is perfect for taking to the beach and keeping your baby cooled and extra protected from the sun. Just imagine how awesome it would be to have your outdoor blanket, beach umbrella, and baby pool all set up!
Let me know in the comments below what your number one must-have for the summer with your baby is, I would love to hear!
